I have content that I feel I could make a profitable website with. I have a small background in HTML and programming. How can I use this to make money? Create a page and sell ads on it? Please be specific.

First of all define content
If you have videos made by you you can use Google Video to sell it.
If by content you understand knowledge than set up a blog and yes you can put ads on pages (AdSense program for example) or sell consulting services
