Is There Money Available To Help A Person Start A Cattle Farm?
I am looking to start a new career in cattle farming, as it appeals to me greatly. I have general knowledge of the farm but what I need to know before I can even begin is there money available to help me get started. Maybe grants for land? Feed? The Cattle? What kind of help is out there?

There may be but will be difficult to obtain.
Your may want to check with your local county Extension agent or Farm Co-op for any farms for rent, lease, or for sale by the owner.
Many older farmers / ranchers may be willing to work deals with potential buyers or partners. Might be best to go that route first to get a feel for the work before pursuing further and getting in debt and possibly in over your head.
Another possible avenue is checking with cattle companies who need people to look after cattle on grass. Usually in the Southwestern States. A good friend of mine did that for a few years. You are isolated from people for long periods of time. The days are long and you will need to own and know how to ride a horse.
They typically pay by the head and is usually for periods of 3 to 4 months at a time.
They deliver and pick up the cattle. You make sure they have water, give medication when required and see they stay on your range.
He said the money was good.
I can say from experience, cattle is a tough business and a lot of hard work.
If you hit a dry spell like last year here, grass was short and hay expensive. Remember, they eat and drink 24/7. When the grass is low or dead they still want to eat. That means you buy feed or sell them for possible losses.
Good luck
Wish you the best
I just remembered, North & South Dakota and maybe another state or two have programs for people to move back into rural areas. They may have something you are looking for.
Also I believe Oregon had or has programs for large scale dairy farming.
