They are called Airframe & Powerplant (A&P)mechanics. They are licenced by the government and have to follow strict guidelines on the repair of aircraft. Make anywhere from $10 to $40 /hr depending who they work for and how long they work there. thet would work out to about $20,000 to $80,000 a year plus any overtime.

They are called air craft mechanics. They did make a lot of money back a few years ago. But since a lot of lay offs going on, most of them find themselves jobless and taking on any mechanical jobs available. Now a days aircraft maintenance are contracted to private firms who pays less than regular companies like United, Alaskan airlines. But it takes more than changing oil to become an airline mechanic. I suggest if you are really into airplanes and mechanics, take a course and you’ll find a lot of them from your search engine.
